Q: I was curious, many of the authors at BAEN quote or reference Rudyard Kipling. I wondered if you would suggest a single or group of his work. Thank you.
A. If you're referring to verse, 'Collected Verse' is pretty good. It's missing one line in Bo Da Thone I've found in every other collection I've read but it's otherwise more or less complete.
'Finest of scrimmages ever to see
is a well worked rush on the GBT!'

You often can find it at used bookstores. For that matter, there are extensive collections online.
Primary recommend reading:
Gunga Din
The Ballad of Bo Da Thone
Chant Pagan
Gentlemen Rankers
Destroyers
and, of course:
Recessional
John

Re: Kipling question
Folks:
Kipling's Poems, and the headings of the Book Chapters, are always fun. His storys, of the North West Frontier, make todays News somewhat easier to figure-out. (I do not like thw 'work' done by most of our Media Mavens).

Re: Kipling question
Just a reminder. I've (re)published all of Kipling's works in Mobipocket format at http://www.di2.nu/files/kipling/
The verse is in one monster collection and it has some problems in certain readers. You may find it easier to read online here http://ghostwolf.dyndns.org/words/authors/K/KiplingRudyard/indexalphaverse.html
Two additional poems I recommend Tommy and The Last of the Light Brigade

Re: Kipling question
I've been a fan of Kipling since I was a boy, 50+ years ago. I found some of his poetry hard going then, but after 26 years in the Marine Corps, I love it and have taught my 19 year old Navy son to appreciate it. One of my favorites is The Ballad of East and West, but Tommy is excellent, as is Gunga Din. I've enjoyed John's writing very much, buying every new one I see. I've got to start listening to some of the music he references, particularly the March of Cambreadth. Semper fi
